About the tournament
A 25-year tradition
We are proud to announce the 25th edition of the traditional international water polo tournament “Mladi galeb” for U-13 players. Over a quarter of a century, the tournament has built a reputation as one of the finest youth water polo competitions, bringing together many talented teams from across Europe every year.
Rules & competition format
- Matches follow the current World Aquatics rules.
- Field of play: 25 × 17 m; ball size 4 (women).
- Maximum 15 players per match; duration 4 × 7 minutes effective time, with 2 minutes between quarters.
- 16 teams are drawn into 4 groups of 4; the group stage is a round-robin (3 rounds).
- The top two from each group advance to the quarterfinals; third-placed teams play for 9th – 12th and fourth-placed for 13th – 16th place.
- Points: win 3, draw 1, loss 0. In the knockout stage a tie is decided by a penalty shoot-out.
- Awards go to the best teams and to the best player, top scorer and best goalkeeper, plus a prize for the best player of each match.
